The Justice and Peace Office of Fort Portal Diocese aims at promoting the values of peace, justice, human rights, dignity, reconciliation, democracy and good governance.

Vision:

A just peaceful, united and prosperous Diocese where the church is prophetic and the people live as a family of God founded on the evangelical principles and values.

Mission:

To promote and protect the gospel values within the church, the state and society inspired by Gods Love.

Programs.

The Justice and Peace office program areas are:

  2. Conflict and conflict resolution among vulnerable persons
  3. Good governance
  4. Democracy

Interventions

  1. Child protection/ child safeguarding projects
    The office promotes human rights, a fundamental issue of humanity. The projects promote child rights both in schools and communities.
  1. Civic Education Programme on Good Governance
    The project has so far covered 16 sub counties in Kabarole and Kyenjojo districts. It targets local council I and II leaders and their committee members in all the  villages in the targeted sub counties, religious leaders , cultural and opinion leaders and the sub county leadership both political and technical.
  1. Relief
    The office provides relief to the people in need mainly clothing’s and food to respond to those affected by disaster which is mainly as a result of political insecurity  and floods.
